Data You Give Us Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Pleasant Hill Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that query on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address is used only to read and answer the message.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary server data such as IP address, browser type, viewed paths, and time stamps. Those records are reviewed in aggregate for site health and readership patterns. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools when enabled.
What We Do With This Data
Those data support site operation, error repair, traffic counts, and page improvement. We do not sell visitor lists or construct individual user profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Contra Costa County and California portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools, including the county property-information system, recorder index, and California vital-record guidance. Each outside service sets its own privacy terms. The sponsored results box is also operated by a separate provider, so its handling of a submitted search is governed by that provider.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the reference. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure also occurs when a valid legal demand requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
The connection uses encryption, and logs are retained only for the purposes stated above. There are no accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles on the reference for an account breach to expose.
Users Under 18
Pleasant Hill Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so the limited material can be removed.
Your Data Rights
California residents may have access, correction, deletion, and related rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Since little personal data is retained here, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs, then removing eligible material. Use the Contact page to ask. Government records held by California, Contra Costa County, or Pleasant Hill offices are outside this policy; requests about those records belong with the custodian. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., governs access to public records, not this private reference.
Updates to This Policy
Updates will be posted in this policy. Continued use after a revised version appears indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
